November/December, 2020: Omicron Chapter adopts two families - Here Comes Santa Clause!
The Omicron Chapter partnered with Together We Own It, a "Center for Strength and Development" that serves families in need in Carroll County. This non-profit community service agency is managed by Katie Kirby. Our chapter received a list of gift requests for two needy families that had two children each. Members purchased gifts specifically requested for the children: a boy 13 years old, a girl 6 years old, a boy 2 years old, and an infant 6 months old. The donation sign-up and collection activities were managed by our co-recording secretary, Rachel Kowalski. (By clicking on the agency's name, Together We Own It - above, you can read an excellent article about Katie Kirby and the agency that she started in Westminster that was published in the December 2020/January 2021 issue of Carroll Magazine.)
Each family will get a gift bag filled with goodies. Also pictured are Play-doh for the 6-yr.-old girl and a Fisher Price activity playset for the 6-month-old boy. The Jenga toy is part of a family gift collection bag. Santa will bring the 6-year-old girl barbies and a barbie doll house. The 2-year-old boy will get a cookware playset from Santa and the 13-yr.-old boy will get a PS4 controller.
